Hazelbaker’s former companies operated under Local, Project Specific and International Agreements with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners (UBC&J) and the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE).
He began his career as an apprentice “Hard Hat” diver/piledriver with the U.B.C.&J., Local #2, Cincinnati, Ohio in 1969 and gained his journeyman status in 1972. He maintained that affiliation until his retirement in 2003 and has a broad understanding from both a Union employee and Company owner standpoint on working in the Union environment.
Hazelbaker has used this experience to assist and advise Dive Firms in negotiating win/win agreements with multiple trades on both small and large scale projects across the country.
